1. Low storage in your phone

Low storage is one of the primary reasons for smartphones hanging. If you facing such problems, then you should uninstall or delete all unneeded apps first. Besides at the same time, if you clear the cache memory of your phone on regular basis, then the problem can be solved.

2. Multiple apps running at the same time

Your phone may hang if multiple apps are running in the background. So, when you close an app after using it, remove the tab from the background of the phone also. If you do so you can improve the performance of your phone even a little bit.

3. Lower the Number of Concurrent Apps to Stop Phone Hanging

Every mobile phone comes with a limited amount of facilities like memory (RAM) and processing power. Burdening the phone beyond the capacity of these resources, the phone may hang. So, you should try your best to minimize the number of concurrently running apps. There are a number of apps that are running in the background. By default setting, most of the time the apps get installed in the internal memory of the phone. As a result it there will be lesser space for running the apps and cause clogged memory. If your phone hangs, then install apps in the external memory (i.e. SD Card) of the phone. Normally, the external memory has a larger space than the internal memory of the phone. And you can extend external memory easily when required (instead of an 8 GB card, just insert a 32 GB memory card!). Therefore, in external memory comparatively more apps can be easily installed without clogging the internal memory of the phone. This action will solve your hanging problems easily.

For this, you can set the default write disk. First, go to Settings of your phone > then, storage > click on the default writes disk > Select the SD Card. Please note that this setting is available in slightly different locations on different mobile handsets. So, you may have to do a bit of a look around.

7. Moving the Installed Applications from Internal memory to External.

You have always the facility of moving the already installed apps from internal to external memory. By moving the installed apps to external memory you will get more internal memory space. You can run the apps very smoothly. And your phone will not hang in the future.

You can move installed by going to Settings of your phone >then to Apps.

8. Delete Unnecessary Unused Apps

Look at the apps installed on your phone. You will get to know that some apps that you had installed once upon a time but you don’t require them any longer. Please uninstall such apps immediately from your phone. Because those apps stay idle in your phone and occupy much memory space.

9. Remove Unnecessary photos, videos, and songs

Delete all unnecessary pictures and files which are not required in the future. By doing so your smartphone does not hang unnecessarily due to unwanted data load. Paying a little attention to all these things will speed up the processing speed of your phone. If you generally store images, videos, and songs in the internal memory; you are really choking up the internal memory space and that will become the main reason why your phone hanging all the time. To solve this problem take a look at all the pictures, videos, and songs and delete the ones that you no longer need. Besides, first, you can take a backup of this data in your computer or any memory card or any external hard disk and then delete it from your phone. It is well-known fact that Photos, videos, and audio take up most of the space of the phone of an average smartphone user. And this is one of the common reasons why your phone hangs.

10. Identify Resource Hogging Apps

Some apps take much more memory than other apps. Game apps (PUBG) are among the top memory taker apps. Please check the memory use of each app. For checking the memory using go to Settings > Apps (or Memory) > Running Apps. Here, you will know which app is using exactly how much memory.

You may try a lighter version of an app that is using a lot of memory if it is possible or available. For example, if you are using a news app and that app is taking up a lot of RAM; then consider removing that app and installing another news app from the app store.

11. Installing the Antivirus Software

Viruses are a threat. If there is any virus that exists in your phone, the virus will slow down your mobile phone. No need to say that your phone will hang very often. So, an anti-virus will be needed for your smartphone. It is also known to all that anti-virus software itself takes up a lot of memory. But, it is the main priority to have the virus removed.

12. Give External Memory Some Free Space

It is important that you install apps on external memory. But try not to choke up the external memory completely! It is advisable that you keep some space free in external memory also. If external memory is also full, this will be one of the causes of phone hang.

13. Use Factory Reset Option

This should be your last option. If the above tips don,t work, and your phone stills hang often, you can then reset your mobile phone back to factory settings. Factory settings will remove everything from your mobile phone. So, try to back up all required things on another place like a Memory card, external Harddisk or Laptop. Your phone will become just the same it was when it was produced in the factory if you reset it using the factory reset option.

14. Update all the Apps from time to time

Update all the apps by visiting the app stores like Google Play (if you are an Android phone user) and iTunes App Store (if you're an iPhone user). Mobile app developers update their apps frequently. Therefore, you should update all the apps regularly whenever a better version of the app is available.
